The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration will hold the next meeting of the Truck Leasing Task Force (TLTF) Thursday, March 21, 2024, at the Mid-America Trucking Show in Louisville, Kentucky. The meeting is open to the public. Virtual participation is available; pre-registration is required.
Chartered by the Secretary of Transportation in 2022, the TLTF is charged with examining the terms, conditions, and equitability of common truck leasing arrangements, particularly as they impact owner-operators and trucking businesses subject to such agreements.
The meeting will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Eastern. Registration for on-site participation is not required. Registration for virtual participation can be made online.
FMCSA recently extended the comment period for the agency’s Feb. 16 notice requesting information from the public, including commercial motor vehicle drivers, to assist TLTF in reviewing truck leases to identify terms and conditions that may be unfair to drivers. FMCSA extended the comment period until Apr. 2.
