Former longtime president of tank truck association passes

Clifford J. “Cliff” HarvisonClifford J. “Cliff” HarvisonNTTCClifford J. “Cliff” Harvison, former president of the National Tank Truck Carriers, died March 19 at his home in Stuart, Florida. He was 85 years old.

Mr. Harvison joined the trade association in 1965 and rose to president in 1972. He held the title for 33 years until retiring in 2005,

He was a graduate of Duquesne University in 1961 where he played tennis. He joined the U.S. Army's Transportation Corps as an officer after graduation. He was stationed in Florida during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He later joined the Central Intelligence Agency at its headquarters in McLean, Virginia where he served on the German Desk.

Mr. Harvison is survived by his wife Sandy, his son John, his brother Carl, and his family. He was predeceased by his daughter Jennifer in 2013.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Tunnels and Towers, t2t.org in Mr. Harvison's memory.

A Celebration of Mr. Harvison's life will be held on Thursday, April 18 at 11:00 am at Mariner Sands Chapel, 6500 SE Congressional Way, Stuart, Florida.
