Briefly: J.B. Hunt prepares for freight shift; makes executive changes

J.B. Hunt Transport Services Inc. Monday announced several changes to its executive leadership team.

The changes include:

  • Nick Hobbs, continuing his duties as Chief Operating Officer, has been named President of Highway and Final Mile Services
  • Executive Vice President Brad Hicks has been named President of Dedicated Contract Services
  • David Keefauver has been named Executive Vice President of People

“We are in a position to deliver exceptional value for our customers and shareholders throughout our full suite of services, and these changes align the strengths and experience of our executives to lead and grow these services into the future,” said Shelley Simpson, president and CEO. “As we navigate current market dynamics and prepare for a return to more normal seasonal demand patterns, we anticipate a large addressable opportunity to capture additional market share and see greater returns on our strategic investments.”

The new positions will be effective Dec. 1. All three executives will report to Simpson.

“As we prepare for an eventual turn in the freight market, we have focused our entire organization on being operationally excellent and scaling our long-term investments to enable our company to generate appropriate returns that deliver shareholder value. The strength and resiliency of our organization is supported by our mode neutral approach and the consistency, tenure and expertise of our people and executive leadership team, and these moves address the potential we see across the company as we move into 2025,” said Simpson.

Love's spices up taco menu

.Love's Travel Stops recently announced new selections to the hot food options in stores, now available in more than 500 locations across the country.  

Salsa verde has been added to the recipes of breakfast, lunch and dinner taco favorites, including the bacon egg and cheese, potato egg and cheese, grilled steak and grilled chicken tacos. Love's said t he addition of salsa verde to the base elevates the flavor of every ingredient, creating a great balance.  

New additions to Love’s taco menu include a steakhouse breakfast taco with grilled steak, fluffy scrambled eggs topped with a melty three-cheese blend and crispy fried onions and buffalo chicken ranch tacos for lunch and dinner.   

“Our guests’ palates are constantly evolving as they look for more intriguing taste combinations,” said Greg Ekman, senior manager of culinary at Love’s. “We are excited to introduce our enhanced tacos, which offer a comforting blend of both familiar and new flavors. Love’s is dedicated to delivering a variety of delicious options to keep our guests fully satisfied as they move along their journey.”

Love's tacos are prepped and cooked in-store daily, starting with the breakfast menu, served at 5 a.m. and lunch tacos are served beginning at 10:30 a.m.
