Great Dane Trailers is recalling some 225 model year 2025 Champion dry van trailers.
The trailers are missing kingpin welds that may prevent the upper coupler from securely connecting the trailer. An insecure connection may allow the trailer to detach from the tow vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
According to National Highway Traffic Safety Administration documents, Great Dane determined some of the trailers were equipped with hot dipped galvanized upper couplers which were missing welds to the kingpin.
Great Dane will inspect and replace the upper couplers as necessary, free of charge.
Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed Feb. 7, 2025. Owners can contact Great Dane customer service at 877-369-3493. NHTSA’s recall number is 24V-922.
Schneider holds hiring event in Georgia
Schneider is hosting a truck driving and owner-operator opportunities recruiting event on at Chatham County One Stop Center in Savannah, Georgia.
The event is Jan. 22 from noon to 2 p.m.
Schneider said the event is an opportunity to speak to one of its recruiters about driving opportunities, pay and benefits, military programs, requirements, terminology clarification, CDL questions and any other questions attendees may have.
Toy trucks given to hospitalized children
Truck Master Warranty, a leader in commercial medium and heavy-duty truck protection plans, donated hundreds of toy trucks to Ohio's Akron Children's Hospital and Children's Mercy Hospital of Kansas City. This initiative aims to brighten the holidays for children spending Christmas and Hanukkah in the hospital and bring smiles to their faces during a challenging time.
Representatives from Truck Master Warranty delivered the toy trucks to both hospitals and spent time with the children as they enjoyed their presents.xx
