Michigan driving championship won by Old Dominion Freight Line trucker

A trucker for Old Dominion Freight Line won the grand champion's title during the Michigan Trucking Association's Truck Driving Championship held Jun 6 and 7 at Lansing Community College in Lansing.

David Poff won the top award and also won the straight truck category.

Other special award winners included:

  • Small Team Champions: ABF Freight
  • Large Team Champions: Walmart

  • Flatbed: Dave Evans, Walmart
  • Sleeper Berth: William Schultz, Walmart
  • Straight Truck: David Poff, Old Dominion Freight Line
  • Tanker: Travis Clark, Walmart
  • Twins: Shane Hearn, FedEx
  • Step Van: Phillip Lawrence, Sheldon Holdings, FedEx

Individual class winners qualify for the National Truck Driving Championship in Minneapolis Aug. 20-23.
