Earlier this month, Volvo said will recall some 2,487 2025-2026 Volvo New VN trucks for a steering-related issue.

Volvo told the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, “Certain Volvo New VN vehicles equipped with dynamic steering and oversteer guidance may experience an oversteer correction, where oversteer guidance may correct for an oversteer input and then continue to correct in the opposite direction. The resulting oscillations may result in a control issue which requires driver interventionIn the event of a vehicle oversteer guidance intervention and without driver intervention the on-going correction could result in a crash.

Volvo will use over the air programming to turn off the oversteer guidance feature, free of charge. If a vehicle is not capable of receiving OTA programming, a dealer will provide the repair for free. Additionally, trucks at Volvo factories were put under a stop shipment effective Aug. 5, and will not be released until the defect is corrected, according to the company.

Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed Oct. 5.

Truck owners may contact Volvo Trucks’ customer service at 1-800-528-6586 and reference recall number RVXX2506.
