USA Truck is once again owned by a U.S. entity.
USA Truck Friday announced it is under new ownership as Dutch transportation giant DSV agreed to sell all of the shares in the company to a new organization headed by the 40-year-old trucking company's chief executive officer and two former officers.
UTAC, LLC, the new owners, is based in Arkansas and is owned by George Henry, the company's CEO; Zachary King, a former USA Truck chief financial officer; and James Reed, a former USA Truck CEO and current chairman of autonomous truck producer Kodiak Robotics & Loram.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
USA Truck, a truckload carrier based in Van Buren, Arkansas, has 1,800 trucks and 6,000 trailers.
This is the third ownership change for USA Truck in the last three or so years. The German logistics giant DB Schenker acquired USA Truck in September of 2022. In turn, Danish-based DSV acquired DB Schenker, along with USA Truck, in April of 2025. Deciding USA Truck didn't fit with its strategic focus, DVS announced plans to sell it late last year, leading to UTAC's purchase.
According to a statement from UTAC, the move to private ownership allows USA Truck to operate with greater speed, flexibility, and focus, prioritizing customer relationships, service reliability, and disciplined growth. The company remains financially strong and well-positioned to build upon its reputation as a trusted transportation partner, accorfing to the new owners.

USA Truck was founded by Robert M. Powell in 1983, when he and other managers purchased the truckload division (Crawford Produce) from Arkansas Best Corp. It became an independent company, which would go public in 1992.
Powell served as CEO and Chairman until his retirement in 2011. He died in 2021. He was a naval aviator from 1956 to 1960
