Indiana State Police inspections place 653 drivers out of service thru Feb. 14

The Indiana State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division (CVED) recently delivered an update on its enforcement efforts this year.
 
From Jan. 1 to Feb. 14 ISP CVED performed 6,455 inspections  which resulted in:
  • Total Out of Service Drivers – 653
  • Total Out of Service Vehicles – 752
  • Total Number of Oversize Violations – 49
  • Total Number of Overweight Violations – 278
During the week of Jan. 12-16, 2026, ISP CVED participated in the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance Human Trafficking Awareness Campaign.
 
Additionally, during Jan 25-28, 2026, CVED personnel assisted in the aftermath of the winter storm by investigating 131 vehicle crashes and taking 2,342 calls for service, both of which were above and beyond normal CVED duties.
