Alabama troopers arrest driver with no CDL, but having 185 lbs, of pot

A trucker faces numerous charges after being stoped by an Alabama state trooper late last month. 

A social media post said a trooper assigned to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s Motor Carrier Safety Unit (MCSU) conducted a commercial motor vehicle inspection on March 31. The inspection of a tractor-trailer occurred on Interstate 20 near the 143 mile marker in St. Clair County northeast of Birmingham.

During the course of the inspection:
  • the driver of the tractor-trailer provided an invalid driver license.
  • was determined to be an illegal immigrant
  • 185 pounds of marijuana was fouind
Troopers arrested Dajun Sun, 57, of Oregon City, Oregon. He was charged with drug trafficking and operating a commercial motor vehicle without a commercial driver’s license.
 
He was booked into the St. Clair County Jail with a $1,500,000 bond, according to the troopers.
