Police in southern California recently arrested three men in connection with the theft of some popular kids' toys.

On April 8 deputies from the Kern County Sheriff’s Office Mojave Substation responded to the 400 block of Silver Queen Road regarding suspicious vehicles in the area. When deputies arrived, two box trucks were seen fleeing the area.

Deputies conducted traffic stops on both vehicles and identified Jose Lopez, 37, of San Bernardino, Ruben Lopez Flores, 25, of Los Angeles, and Freddy Hernandez Polinar, 35, of Chino.

Deputies searched the box trucks and discovered a large amount of Lego products. Deputies circulated the area and located two freight trailers. A thorough investigation, deputies discovered the trailers were stolen while in transit from Fort Worth, Texas, to Moreno Valley, California.

The loss was reported to be about $1 million worth of Lego products.

Deputies recovered the stolen Lego products and the stolen freight trailers.

All three subjects were placed under arrest for possession of a stolen vehicle, cargo theft, and conspiracy.
