The future location of the Haul of Fame. (Image Courtesy of Freightwaves)A new trucking museum is set to open in downtown Chattanooga, Tennessee in mid-April. The Haul of Fame museum will be built by Freightwaves and be an add-on to its corporate offices.
Situated in over 10,000 square feet, the museum will highlight the trucking industry‘s history from the 1900s through modern times. It will feature diecast trucks, a truck-driving simulator, videos, photographs, and other collections pertaining to the trucking industry. According to a Freightwaves news release, the goal of the museum is to preserve the trucking industry’s history as the industry experiences rapid changes due to new technologies.
Morgan Gray, the museum’s curator and resident historian, is recruiting help from drivers and others in the industry. She is asking anyone with spare diecast 1:64 trucks from “companies past, present and future” to consider donating those trucks to the museum. In exchange, Freightwaves will donate $50 for each unique truck they receive to the American Logistics Aid Network. Freightwaves’ goal is to raise $50,000 for the network.
