Get ready to pay more in 2020 if you drive the Pennsylvania Turnpike.

The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission earlier this week approved a 6 percent toll increase for 2020 for both E-ZPass and cash customers. The increase starts Jan. 5 at 12:01 a.m. on all sections and extensions excluding three western PA “cashless” toll facilities.

The increase will see the most common toll for a Class 8 truck increase to $23.32 for E-ZPass and from $32.65 for cash.

A 2020 trip calculator and toll schedule will be posted online this fall at PATurnpike.com/toll/TollMileage.aspx.

This is the 12th straight year the turnpike has raised its rates.

Tolls will not rise at three western PA highways as these locations will see increases Oct. 27. They are:

  • PA Turnpike 376, (Beaver Valley Expressway)
  • PA Turnpike 66 (Greensburg Bypass or Amos K. Hutchinson Bypass)
  • Gateway tolling point (milepost 2 near Ohio on I-76)
