Every truck show has one; the truck that stands out from the rest. It may be bigger or badder or hotter or have more chrome than allowed by law.
Such was the 1979 Western Star cabover that showed up at the American Truck Historical Society Hudson Mohawk Chapter’s show in Ballston Spa, New York in late September.
The Star was brought back to better than new condition by a pair of twin brothers, Pete & Carl Caporal. The two are heavy equipment operators and drivers for the municipality where they live just north of New York City.
In this episode of the Truckers News Podcast, the brothers talk about the truck, what it was like when they found it and how they spent the past several years getting it back to drool-worthy condition.
