A number of Mack and Volvo truck are being recalled for the same brake problem.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports some 2025-2027 Pioneer and 2026-2027 Anthem vehicles and 2026-2027 VNR and 2025-2027 VNL vehicles have been recalled. The agency said the rear brake modulators may have unprotected electrical connectors that can short-circuit and lead to a loss of the antilock brake system (ABS) and electronic stability control (ESC). A loss of antilock brakes and electronic stability control increases the risk of a crash or injury, according to the NHTSA.
Dealers will inspect the rear brake modulator electrical connectors, install a protective cover, and replace the rear brake modulators as necessary.
