Michigan trooper injured when truck slams into his vehicle

A Michigan State Police trooper was injured in a crash early Tuesday, July 26 on eastbound I-696 near the Lodge Freeway in Southfield, Michigan when his SUV patrol vehicle was struck by a truck. The crash is said to have occurred at about 7 a.m. after troopers responded to a vehicle in a ditch on eastbound I-696. The unidentified trooper was transported to Providence Hospital with facial injuries, back pain and head trauma.
