It takes truck power to generate wind power

Updated Apr 5, 2017

Semi truck driving on the roadRight now there are more than 314,000 wind turbines (the Global Wind Energy Council’s 2015’s numbers) spinning and generating electricity around the world, with that number expected to increase. Like so many other things in life, it takes trucks and drivers to make that possible. What follows is a small collection of videos from Europe and China of trucks solving the problem of getting the massive rotor blades — some as long as 246 feet — from the manufacturing plant to the location where they’ll be installed. You’ll see that sometimes this process requires special trucks, and has to be performed over some demanding terrain.
