Two truckers died and five tractor-trailers were burned in a crash and fire Wednesday night, Beb. 21 at the Interstate 95 welcome center near the Georgia-South Carolina border.

Georgia State Police report a tractor-trailer entered the back of the welcome center at a high rate of speed, struck a parked rig that then slammed into several other parked tractor-trailers, all of which caught fire. A pickup towing a camper also caught fire.

The driver of the truck that entered the welcome center died in the crash, as did the driver who was asleep in the rig the first truck struck.

Police continue to investigate, and have not ruled out that the diver of the first tractor-trailer may have suffered a medical emergency.
