A massive pileup on Interstate 70 south of Champaign has kept the highway closed for hours Sunday and into the early morning hours of Monday.
According to the Illinois State Police, the crash involved at least 40 vehicles, including numerous tractor-trailers, and closed I-70 about 30 miles west of the Indiana border both ways around 1:30 p.m.
The incident occurred in the eastbound lanes of I-70.
Illinois State Police said one person was injured.
