Dump truck hits tractor-trailer, then Target store; 6 people injured

Six people were injured late last week when a dump truck loaded with rocks and dirt crashed into the side of a Target store in North Bergen, New Jersey after having also struck a tractor-trailer.

The incident occurred Friday, Jan. 17 at about 2:30 p.m. when the dump truck was on a steep hill on 71st Street when the truck's brakes failed or the driver lost control. The truck crossed into the southbound lanes of Tonnelle Avenue where it struck the tractor-trailer beofre hitting the side of the Target store.

Five people in the store were injured as was the dump truck driver. All were taken to a local hospital. The driver of the tractor-trailer was uninjured.

Police continue their investigation.
