Who knew a big box hardware store could be so dangerous? Apparently, Robert McCall (Denzel Washington) does as he uses a variety of tools to dispatch a small army of Russian crooks threatening his coworkers in The Equalizer. In this film version of the TV show of the same name, McCall is a former Green Beret black ops officer with mad skills and a strong sense of justice who helps out a young woman who is forced into prostitution by the Russian mafia. In the process of gaining his friend’s release, McCall wipes out countless crooks and sinks a massive cargo ship for good measure. The Equalizer puts the action in the description “action packed adventure film.” This flick from last summer also stars Marton Csokas, Chloë Grace Moretz, David Harbour, Bill Pullman and Melissa Leo.
