DVD: ‘Farmland’ gives a good look at today’s farmers

Like truckers, today’s farmers defy most of the outdated stereotypes most people still hold. Farmland, an insightful documentary now available for purchase as well as streaming online, helps break those misguided notions about the folks who produce the food we eat, and that you may be delivering with your truck. As one young farmer says in the film, “We’re normal.” The film by Academy Award-winning filmmaker James Moll’s offers a glimpse inside the world of farming by showcasing the lives of six young farmers and ranchers in their twenties. Farmland just this week became available for purchase at Walmart and on Amazon. It also streams in Netflix and iTunes. Worth the watch.
