FedEx Corp. is set to deliver 18,000 fresh-cut Christmas trees to U.S. service members through its Trees for Troops program, in partnership with the Christmas SPIRIT Foundation.

The trees are donated from tree farmers across the nation and delivered to more than 65 military bases in 17 countries. The Trees for Troops program launched in 2005. Since then the program has shipped more than 157,000 fresh-cut trees to service members.

This year’s program started Nov. 17 with the preparation of 200 Christmas trees, donated by the Indiana Christmas Tree Growers Association, for international delivery. The trees will go to service members in the Middle East and South Pacific. FedEx will deliver 18,000 Christmas trees Dec. 2-Dec. 11 by truck through FedEx Express.
