DVD: Redford & Nolte take ‘A Walk in the Woods’

For the typical truck driver, a 2,200-mile trip from Georgia to Maine might not seem like anything out of the ordinary; many do it or something similar all the time. But, when the 2,200 miles is by foot along the Appalachian Trail, well, that’s a trip of a different sort. It’s also the basis for a 2015 movie now available on DVD and Blu-ray. “A Walk In The Woods” stars Robert Redford and Nick Nolte as the two guys who decide to hike the trail. Think of it as a “road” movie without the road, or a “buddy” flick in which the buddies are better suited for a walk in the park. But, that’s what makes the film work. Joining Redford and Nolte is another Oscar winner, Emma Thompson. The comedy/adventure movie is based on a book of the same name by Bill Bryson, Redford’s character in the movie. Amazon has it for $12.99 on DVA and $14.99 on Blu-ray.
