A star who has had seven number one hits and 13 more in the top 10 of the country charts will headline the free concert at the Great American Trucking Show in Dallas in August.
John Michael Montgomery performs Friday, Aug. 26 at the show in the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center. Singer/songwriter/truck driver Tony Justice opens for Montgomery.
GATS takes place Thursday-Saturday, Aug. 25-27, admission is free to truck drivers who register in advance online.
Tickets will be available on a first-come, first-served basis at the show.
Montgomery made an impressive national debut in1992 with his first album Life’s A Dance, the title track of which hit number four on the country charts. Then, I Love the Way You Love Me, was his first number one hit and crossed over to number 60 0n Billboard’s Hot 100; it also was the Academy of Country Music’s single of the year. That debut album sold more than 3 million copies.
Justice, who released his new album Brothers of the Highway earlier this year, will open for Montgomery. The Everhart Transportation driver out of Tennessee has been an over-the-road truck driver since 2000.
