Spotify adds visual elements to its podcasts


Spotify recently launched a new multimedia format, called Spotlight, for its podcasts, audiobooks and news content. The podcast audio will now be accompanied by visual elements such as photos, video and text to complement the storytelling. Spotlight content is available for playlists.

These new visual podcasts are available from select content producers, with more series slated to go live in February. Spotlight is launching with content from Gimlet Media, Crooked Media, Uninterrupted, Refinery29, BuzzFeed News and others.
