Celadon adds new pay program more information online

Indianapolis-based Celadon Trucking has instituted a new driver pay program and a new mobile online service as part of National Truck Driver Appreciation Week.

The company said both are meant to “… help drivers address the challenges of driving a truck.”

Through its WageLock program, Celadon company drivers who meet the requirements can earn up to $1,000 a week, regardless of how many miles they drive.  The program takes effect Nov. 1.

“We want to compensate our company drivers who do their jobs every day and pay them in situations where there’s not freight available for them to get miles,” said Matt Douglass, vice president of Operations at Celadon, which is 35th on “Commercial Carrier Journal’s” Top 250 ranking. “Our WageLock program does just that.”

Celadon said it implemented FleetWire to give drivers access to tools aimed at making their jobs easier.  Celadon partnered with Pegasus TransTech to create what it calls “the most flexible mobile application in the industry, designed to meet fleet-specific driver communication needs.”

“At Celadon, we’re always looking for ways to make life easier for our drivers on the road,” said Steve Edmonds, vice president of Information Technology at Celadon. “Our FleetWire mobile app will provide our drivers the convenience of document scanning, load tendering and messaging in this all-in-one phone app.”

With FleetWire, Celadon drivers have instant access to information, including company news, safety tips, training tools and messages from the carrier from their smartphones.  Celadon also is implementing load tendering workflow, giving drivers the ability to manage workflow outside of the cab of the truck, including the ability to see pre-planned loads and the load on which they are currently dispatched.

Celadon Group, Inc. through its subsidiaries, provides long-haul, regional, local, dedicated, intermodal, temperature controlled, flatbed and expedited freight service across the United StatesCanada and Mexico.
