Secured Land Transport (SLT), headquartered in Glendale, Arizona, wants to prove to their drivers that they’re valued members of the team by offering them a stable income.
Guaranteed pay is provided by SLT, and the company started 2016 with a pay increase for its solo and team drivers. The increase raised the company’s guaranteed pay from $150/day to $157.75/day, accompanied by an additional cents per mile (CPM) bonus increase from the starting rate of $.02 CPM to $.04 CPM. Every driver is guaranteed a minimum of $1,100-1,300 a week.
“The guaranteed pay structure gives them the respect they deserve,” said Michael Fisk, project manager for Secured Land Transport.
The company also launched an elite driver plan, a new pay tier allowing current SLT drivers with HAZMAT/tanker, TWIC, permanent DOD clearance and a QE permit plus one year with SLT to be eligible for an increased guaranteed pay of $185.71/day. This means these elite drivers could average $1,490-1,740 per week, according to an SLT announcement.
