Indianapolis-based Celadon Group, Inc., has announced a new $8,000 sign-on bonus program for company team drivers as well as a new $8,000 sign-on incentive for lease purchase operators. Both are available for all teams that join Celadon after Jan. 1 and drive in the Celadon network, including dry van, temperature-controlled and dedicated.
The new sign-on bonus and lease incentive is performance-based, earned as mileage is accrued. Once a new team has achieved 30,000 miles, each member is paid $1,000. The $1,000 is paid out to each team driver again at their 60,000, 90,000 and 120,000 milestones.
“We know the importance of retaining drivers in our fleet,” said Joshua Shaffer, Vice President of Expedited Services. “By giving our team drivers a very competitive base pay, coupled with our utilization bonuses and this new company sign-on bonus and new lease purchase incentive, we feel Celadon is a company where they can have a long and successful career.”
In May, Celadon raised the base pay for experienced teams to $.50 split per loaded mile. Teams that run 17,000 to 19,000 loaded miles in a calendar month receive a $.06/mile bonus; teams that run between 19,000 and 21,000 loaded miles get a $.07/mile bonus and teams that log more than 21,000 loaded miles in a given month receive a $.08/mile bonus on all miles.
