i Luv My Trucker: Meet some of the well-luved truckers

One appreciates how loyal their trucker is, and "how he greets the customers and how he talks to his boss and coworker."

Another paints a simple and heartfelt picture of the driver in their life when she says, "He puts his work first and he is a hard worker."

Yet another says of her "old school" trucker, "He believes in being early to his customers and if another trucker is in need he helps."

Those are but a few of the folks who responded when we asked Truckers News readers to tell us why they say, "I Luv My Trucker!" as part of our participation in National Truck Driver Appreciation Week." We'll post more, and will award five of the nominated drivers $25 gift cards to Subway so they can have lunch on us.

Why They Luv Their Trucker: I  love him for his "drive"...the way he goes out to take care of me and our 3 children without any complaints. He's very present in our lives even when he's on the road -- every school event, special occasions -- he makes time.10 years of marriage and a lifetime to go. Trucking has built his muscle for hustle and I couldn't pray for a better man, provider, and father for our babies.

He has well over a million safe driving miles with Perdue. He works hard for his family putting in 12 to 14 hour days some days and never complains. Why They Luv Their Trucker: My husband has a passion when driving his truck. Always so proud of what he has accomplished owning his own company and equipment. He has names for his truck and trailer and actually treats them like family. He doesn't stop until he completes the job. He often pinches himself because he can't believe where he is in this business. God has been good to us. Sacrifices are made daily but with no regrets.

Why They Luv Their Trucker: I met my trucker a year and a half ago. As a female driver he showed respect and encouragement to me from the beginning. He mainly hauls steel. I haul dairy. Our schedules are crazy with lots of times apart and home time is cherished. But he always goes above and beyond for me, his boss, his customers, other drivers, and family. He'll coach a rookie, offer valuable advice, and make sure his load is always safely loaded and delivered, keeping other drivers and their safety first. Now we are engaged! And I feel so lucky that I have this wonderful man in my life.
