Keep these thing mind before you hit the road and your trip just might be healthier and you could return home happier, which is a good thing to do.

When hunger hits while you’re on the road, grab a handful or two of almonds, peanuts or mixed nuts.  They’re high in protein, making them a more satisfying snack than chips. They’re easy to pack and access, and they help keep your blood sugar levels in check. Look for nuts that are roasted and unsalted.

Chewing gum can help reduce stress and improve concentration while multi-tasking. Choose sugar-less gum for a calorie-free boost.

If you have a sore joint, apply ice wrapped in a towel or a cold pack to the area for no more than 20 minutes. A bag of frozen peas works well. Don’t put the ice directly on your skin.

Wear sunglasses that block UVA and UVB rays. Look for labels that say “Meets ANSI UV Requirements,” because those sunglasses block 99 percent of UV rays. UV rays have been proven to cause cataracts, skin cancer around the eyes and degeneration of the macula

Compliment someone for a job well done. Expressing gratitude improves your mental health and reduces stress.
