Teamsters withdraw vote at FedEx Freight in Pennsylvania

The Teamsters’ campaign to organize FedEx drivers and workers took another blow Dec. 10 when the union withdrew a vote at a FedEx Freight facility in Pocono Summit, Pa.

The withdrawal follows a Nov. 26 announcement from FedEx in which the company said drivers at its Louisville, Ky., hub voted against Teamsters representation and that the union had withdrawn elections petitions at three other locations.

So far, workers at three FedEx terminals have chosen to join the union. Workers at three other locations have rejected Teamsters representation, and the Teamsters have withdrawn five petitions — an action FedEx says it would only take if it knew it would not win the election.

The Teamsters are also pursuing drivers for Con-way Freight, though has suffered some setbacks there of late, too.
