The Teamsters today withdrew its petition for a unionization election at Con-way Freight’s Orlando, Fla. facility just before the vote was to be taken.
Greg Lehmkuhl, president of Con-way Freight, hailed the withdrawal as another victory for Con-way Freight’s employees, who have been the target of union organizing efforts over the past six months.
Today’s withdrawal is of seven for the union at Con-way facilities, according to the company. The Teamsters were rejected in previous elections at Con-way Freight facilities in Bakersfield, Santa Fe Springs and San Fernando Valley, CA; Manchester, NH; and Harlingen, TX. The Teamsters also previously withdrew a petition for a vote at Con-way Freight’s facility in Irvine, CA.
