Puppy named ‘Peterbilt’ survives crash that killed his owner

“Peterbilt”: the puppy that survived a fatal truck crash

A puppy named “Peterbilt” Tuesday (May 19) survived a horrific two-truck crash on I-71 in Ohio that took the life of his master, the driver of one of the trucks.

Ohio State Troopers report driver Robert Major, 36, of Augusta, Ky. died when his truck slammed into the back of another that was pulling over to the side of the highway. A 40,000-pound roll of steel slid into Major’s cab, killing him.

Troopers said Major’s puppy, which is being returned to his family in Kentucky, most likely survived because of its small size.
