Don Davis’ Peterbilt that was highjacked by a gunman

A north Georgia logging truck driver is recovering and friends and family members are working to raise money to help with the process after he was shot during a police chase and shootout in August.

Don Davis was driving his loaded Peterbilt when a man brandishing a rifle leapt into the cab and tried to force Davis to ram a police roadblock. The gunman shot Davis when he refused and resisted.

Now it looks as though Davis may be out of work for as much as a year because of his injuries.

“Overdrive’s” Senior Editor Todd Dills wrote about the incident and what’s being done to help the veteran driver in his Channel 19 blog. See how you can help.
