Tonja Wilhelms, U.S. recruiting manager for Trimac Transportation and representatives from 39 other transportation industry employers attended a ceremony at the Pentagon by ESGR (Employers Support of the Guard and Reserve) and FASTPORT for a “Statement of Support for the Guard and Reserve” signing event.
The employers who attended the ceremony were joined by several key partners including:
- Alex Baird, ESGR executive director,
- Tom Bullock, ESGR deputy director of employer outreach,
- Dr. Susan Kelly, the Director of Transition to Veterans Program Office,
- Governor Bill Graves, ATA President
- Bill McLennan, CEO of Fastport Inc.
The statement of support is a commitment to recognize, honor and comply with the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act, provide the tools needed to manage employees who serve in the Guard and Reserve and recognize and support members of the armed services and their families.
Earlier this year, Trimac announced a commitment to hire veterans through the Hiring Our Heroes program and worked with Fastport to help fill that hiring commitment.
Trimac Transportation provides bulk transportation, logistics, and other transportation services to the North American market.
