‘Overdrive’ and Todd Dills recognized for reporting

Truckers News” sister publication “Overdrive” and its Senior Editor Todd Dills were honored last week by Connectiv, formerly American Business Media, with three Jesse H. Neal Awards for editorial excellence at a ceremony April 1, in New York City.

Dills and Overdrive won Best Series for CSA’s Data Trail, a continuation of the series that received business-to-business media’s highest honor, the Grand Neal, in 2014. The series is built on federal data mined by Overdrive and its sister brand, RigDig Business Intelligence, and explores problems with the Compliance, Safety, Accountability program.

Dills’ work on CSA’s Data Trail, his reporting analyzing owner-operator rates and load schedules (based on data provided by Truckstop.com), his work on the current state of the truck market and more, led to his second award, for Best Data Journalist.

Dills’ third award came in the category of Best Range of Work, highlighting his ability to work across various media while maintaining high levels of editorial craftsmanship, journalistic enterprise and innovation. This is the second year in a row Dills has won in this category.
