Driver from Virginia is top tank truck driver

A veteran driver from Virginia is this year’s Tank Truck Driver of the Year Grand Champion.

Darryl Nowell, who drives for Eagle Transport Corporation, was presented with the honor lat last month at the National Tank Truck Carrier’s Annual Conference in San Diego.

Nowell has drive for 31 years, the last 13 of which have been for Eagle, working from their Richmond, Virginia terminal. He is a “President’s Million Mile Club” member and a certified trainer for Eagle.

Active in his community, the Army veteran is a Boy Scout Leader, a Little League football and baseball coach, a search and rescue Coast Guard volunteer, and a community advocate for fire prevention.

Headquartered in Rocky Mount, North Carolina, Eagle Transport owns over 450 power units, with 22 terminals located throughout the eastern United States from Delaware to South Florida and west to Nashville. The company transports petroleum and chemical products.
