Miller Transporters was awarded the Heil Trophy for outstanding safety performance at the 2016 National Tank Truck Carriers annual conference recently.
The company, headquartered in Jackson, Mississippi, reduced accident frequency by 56 percent in two years to the lowest of the company’s history. Miller implemented a safety performance plan focused on more one-on-one training for new drivers, showing drivers at-risk behavior through proprietary predictive analysis and improving the information content of its driver safety meetings.
“Through the hard work of our safety department and each driver’s commitment to excellence, Miller has been able to improve upon a safety program that has already been recognized as an industry leader,” said Brent Cobb, vice president of safety and quality for Miller Transporters.
Miller Transporters is a liquid bulk for-hire carrier that serves the 48 states, Canada and Mexico with 420 tractors and over 1,000 trailers.
