A trailer loaded with 20,000 pounds of cheese valued at $46,000 was stolen near Milwaukee Friday, July 1.
According to NBC News, the truckload of cheese headed for New York was in a parking lot in Oak Creek, Wisconsin, Friday, when it was stolen. The driver said he left the truck in a storage area and when he went to run some errands. When he came back the truck was gone.
According to media reports, the truck was plain white and not marked.
The cheese was from U.S. Foods and was reportedly being shipped from Green Bay, Wisconsin.
Long holiday weekends are often times of increased cargo theft activity.
