In his nearly 40-year career with YRC Freight, Joe Brown has driven 5 million accident-free miles, and the company recognized his driving record during an event Wednesday, Oct. 5 at its Memphis, Tennessee terminal.

YRC Freight added Brown to its driver hall of fame, and donated 50 children’s car seats to the Tennessee Highway Patrol in his honor, one for every 100,000 miles Brown has driven.

“Professional drivers consider themselves responsible for their own safety as well as the safety of the motoring public. Joe’s 39 years of accident-free driving is a great example of this commitment,”said Darren Hawkins, YRC Freight president. “That is how safety is done.”

YRC also had a new trailer designed in his honor.

Brown’s regular route is Memphis to Houston, which is more than 1,100 miles round trip.

YRC is an LTL carrier headquartered in Overland Park, Kansas.
