67 truckers compete in Kansas championships

The Kansas Truck Driving Championships, held June 16-17 in Topeka, brought 67 drivers from throughout the state together to compete in various driving challenges.

Don Logan, a driver for FedEx Freight, won the grand champion title. Logan also took home the written exam award, vehicle inspection award and won first place in the flatbed category. Logan has been a trucker for 31 years and has driven 2.7 million safe miles. He’s competed in 11 different Kansas Truck Driving Championships and has collected 10 first place wins.

Field Test Top Score Award: Jeff Davis, Walmart Transportation

Vehicle Inspection Award: Don Logan, FedEx Freight

Straight Truck: Bryan Studley, Walmart Transportation

3-Axle: Jeffery Thompson, FedEx Freight

4-Axle: Kaleb Diehl, YRC Freight

5-Axle: Gary Harms, Walmart Transportation

Tank: Jeff Davis, Walmart Transportation

Flatbed: Don Logan, FedEx Freight

Sleeper Berth: Richard Williams, Walmart Transportation

Twin Trailer: John Bouddhara, FedEx Freight
