Driver of 24 years is Virginia’s trucking grand champion

FedEx Express driver Mark Brundage, from Leesburg, had the highest score of all 94 competitors at the Virginia Truck Driving Championships June 16-17 at Wytheville Community College, making him the state’s grand champion.

Brundage has been a trucker for 24 years and has driven 1.5 million safe miles. He has spent 16 out of his 24 years in the industry driving for FedEx Express.

Straight Truck: Dan Wilson, Frito-Lay

3-Axle: Thomas Tascone, Walmart Transportation

4-Axle: Mark Brundage, FedEx Express

5-Axle Van: Kenneth Cook, Walmart Transportation

Flatbed: Joe Clements, UPS Freight

Tank: Anthony Cottrell, XPO Logistics
