During the award presentation, Landstar President and CEO Jim Gattoni called Price an “ambassador of safety” for the company.

“The BCO Lifetime Achievement Award is the perfect way to honor Ray’s years of service and safe driving. This award is a testament to the values that guide Ray in both his personal and professional life,” said Gattoni.

Price, who lives in Cookeville, Tennessee, leased on to Landstar in 1989 and has driven nearly 3.5 million safe miles for the company. In 2000, Price was named a Million Mile Safe Driver, then in 2006 he achieved 2 million safe miles. In 2012, Price was named a Landstar Roadstar and, in 2013, he reached 3 million safe miles on the road.

To be considered for the honor, nominees must be an active or retired Landstar BCO who has been or was leased on to Landstar for 20 consecutive years. Nominees must be a Two Million Mile Safe Driver and a Landstar Roadstar. Recipients of this award must also have consistently demonstrated professionalism by developing a positive reputation with regulatory and enforcement personnel, customers, agents and Landstar employees, according to the company.
