Walmart’s Ken Duncan is Maine’s trucking grand champion

Walmart Transportation driver Ken Duncan was named Maine’s grand champion driver at the annual trucking championships, put on by the Maine Motor Transport Association Saturday, May 19 in Hermon.

Duncan also won first place in the straight truck class.

FedEx Freight’s Jeffrey Cyr was named Rookie of the Year.

The winners were:

Grand Champion: Ken Duncan, Walmart Transportation

Rookie of the Year: Jeffrey Cyr, FedEx Freight

Pre-Trip Inspection: Hayri Berberoglu II, Sysco of Northern New England

Written Test: Ronald Round, Pottle’s Transportation

Straight Truck: Ken Duncan, Walmart Transportation

4-Axle: Vince Cote, Hannaford Transportation

5-Axle: Josh White, Lynch Logistics

Flatbed: Ray Bucknell, Irving Oil Terminals

Tank: Ronald Round, Pottle’s Transportation

Sleeper: Christopher Gooden, Richard Carrier Trucking

Twin Trailers: Fred Ayer, Pottle’s Transportation

Step Van: Robert Cochran, FedEx Express
