C.R. England and England Logistics set a goal earlier this year to donate over 1 million meals to fight childhood hunger in the United States in 2018 through its One Initiative. For each load delivered, one meal was donated. The fleet reached its goal two months ahead of schedule when it officially surpassed 1 million donated meals Oct. 20.
The fleet held a celebration Oct. 27 at the Utah Food Bank for its employees. The Utah Food Bank was one of 20 food banks C.R. England has partnered with.
“When we launched the One Initiative in January, we were hopeful we could have an impact in helping to provide meals to children in need,” said Josh England, president of C.R. England. “Forty million people struggle with hunger in the United States, including more than 12 million children. This is simply unacceptable! The One Initiative has helped unite our employees, drivers and customers in an effort that is making an immediate contribution to alleviating childhood hunger in the communities where we do business.”
As of Nov. 12, the live meals counter on C.R. England’s One Initiative site was at over 1,077,000.
