Missing truck driver John Ring was found dead near Richmond, Virginia on Dec. 17 after having been last seen on Nov. 1, according to an update from The AWARE Foundation, a national non-profit headquartered in Virginia that is dedicated to finding missing persons.

Ring’s body was reportedly found near where his truck had been recovered last month.

Ring drove for Express Dedicated LLC. When the fleet was unable to reach Ring, a state trooper was sent to check on him and found the truck locked with Ring’s belongings inside. His tractor-trailer was found on I-85 northbound at a rest stop near Dolphin, Virginia, on Nov. 1. Ring was reported missing to the Hammonton Police Department in his home state of New Jersey by his family on Nov. 21.

Truckers News has reached out to police for additional information, including a cause of death. This story will be updated as new details become available.

Truckers Final Mile, a trucking non-profit that helps ill truckers or the family’s of deceased truckers, said it has been contacted by Ring’s family for help bringing his body home to New Jersey for a funeral. They are collecting donations.
