In the most bizarre ever version of “man bites dog” a camel on display at a Louisiana truck stop received antibiotics after being bitten by a woman who entered the creature’s enclosure chasing her dog. And, the most bizarre part of all: the woman bit Casper the dromedary camel in its most private of parts as it sat on her.

Numerous media reports say a Florida couple stopped at the Tiger Truck Stop in Grosse Tete, Louisiana last Wednesday, Sept. 18. While there, the couple’s dog, which was not on a leash, entered the fenced-in enclosure of the camel. When the dog would not exit the camel compound, the couple went in after it.

In the process, Casper sat on the woman, who in turn bit the camel’s testicles in an effort to get it to move. The couple and their dog finally exited the camel enclosure and were cited by police for not having their dog on a leash and trespassing.

On Monday, Sept. 23 Casper was examined by a veterinarian and given antibiotics as a precaution.

Many truckers will remember the Tiger Truck Stop as the home of Tony, a Bengal tiger that was caught up in considerable animal rights controversies until his death about two years ago.
