A 32-year-old Texas man faces capital murder charges in connection with two shootings and the theft of a tractor-trailer near San Antonio Tuesday, Aug. 25.

Austin resident Sacramento Martinez is said to have first shot a woman identified as Marisol Martinez, 33, of Austin, in an SUV that was left parked alongside Intestate 35 in New Braunfels at about 3 a.m. He fled on foot. Police say he crossed northbound I-35 and entered the parking lot of a TA truck stop where he is said to have shot and killed Daniel Sieger, a 45-year-old trucker from Mission, Texas. Martinez then left the truck stop in Sieger’s tractor-trailer with the trucker’s body still in the truck.

Martinez apparently exited southbound I-35, crashing the rig in San Antonio. He once again fled on foot but was captured by San Antonio police.

Reports say Sacramento Martinez had previously been in a relationship with Marisol Martinez, who was under an order of protection from him.

Police continue their investigation.
