The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration is accepting applications from truck drivers who wish to serve on a subcommittee to the agency’s Motor Carrier Safety Advisory Committee.

To apply, the agency asks for commercial drivers to send a resume outlining your driving experience. FMCSA is also asking for a personal statement explaining how your qualifications and experience qualify you to be on the panel. While a letter of recommendation may be included, the agency says it is not required.

FMCSA said it will accept applications to serve on the panel until Oct. 16, and said the panel is expected to include some 25 drivers.

Drivers need to email their documents to [email protected].

“The Department of Transportation and this administration believe in listening to our drivers and hearing their concerns directly,” said FMCSA acting Administrator Wiley Deck. “We know that many of the solutions to the challenges we face don’t come from Washington. They come from the hard-working men and women who are behind the wheel all over our nation. This new subcommittee to MCSAC will further help us hear from America’s commercial drivers.”
