A major trucking event scheduled for early next year is being moved.

The Truckload Carriers Association today sent the following email to members about the annual gathering that had been set for January in Nashville:

“TCA strives to provide the ultimate membership experience and create a valuable and safe environment that our membership will fundamentally benefit from.

“For these reasons, we are moving our in-person Annual Convention from January 2021 to the enlarged, newly-designed meeting space at the Wynn Las Vegas hotel from April 17-20, 2021 with a standard room rate of $219.00.

“In our effort to provide our membership with a quality convention experience it would be helpful to know if you would plan on attending this event in April.

“Your feedback is needed by 5 p.m. ET tomorrow (Friday, November 6).”

In recent years, TCA has alternated holding its annual convention at the Wynn Las Vegas and the Gaylord Palms in Kissimmee, Florida. However, the association changed when and where its 2021 event would be held. TCA planned to meet Jan. 23-26 at the Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center in Nashville.

According to a TCA spokesperson, the change was made because the association was “not going to be able to deliver the same experience we normally do due to restrictions within the hotel and Nashville due to COVID.”
